TOPIC: Husband's 57 Barracuda

Husband's 57 Barracuda 14 years 8 months ago #4316

Husband has decided to sell his Barracuda. He really likes it but hasn't used it in years. He bought it used back in 1973. He has no idea what to ask for it. Any ideas?

Boy, lots of questions! Solid floors? Good transoms? Original gel coat, or paint? Motor type and condition, when last run? Can it be easily registered by a new owner? Trailer lights work? Tires are how old?

We've got members in PA that could maybe take a look, but I'm not sure how you would get them to notice. One alternative is to find a local chapter of AOMCI and drag it to a local meet, see what sort of opinions you get.

Generally these old boats are worth what somebody will pay you for them. I'm not saying that to be funny, it's pretty much true.

Good luck!

Frank

It's been painted a couple times that I know of. The tread is good on the tires. We got a whole set of new tires since we've had it.The engine is 312 Ford interceptor and does not run. I am sure one trailer light works may just need a new bulb in the other one.

The Arena Craft Barracuda is a desireable boat-a late 50's fiberglass inboard with tailfins. You might receive a few offers just by posting on the forum here.

There is at least one member of this forum who has one.

I checked the pictures in the gallery, where is your boat located ? Any chance of seeing more pictures? Thanks.
