Where are you located? This Glassmaster is sitting in a yard in Eastern CT and could use a little TLC. It's not a good looking as a Farallon, but might be available. I haven't talked to the guy and am not even sure if it is for sale. I do have his number. E-mail me and I can give you the info, if you are interested.

hello,
Thanks so much for your reply... I'd be very interested In finding out where this boat is and contacting the owner.

I did find a farallon...all the way in Indiana? so i'd like to see about this one before I commit.
From the FG site, I couldn't find anything really about Glassmaster.
So based on that limited info... I would guess this boat to be around a 1958-60 off shore?

Please let me know about the boat, price, pics number of the owner ect.
and truly thanks so much for taking the time to try and help someone out.
may it come back to you in the form of some good luck your way.
cheers
joey

We have a Cobia that we may be interested in selling. It looks similar to a Dorsett. It is in pretty good shape for an older boat, but like all of them, needs refurbishing.

We have not had much luck posting photos, but will try. We are located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Happened to look on another site (BigFinBoats.com) on main forum, "small cruisers" and we posted a photo on that site in February, so you can look at our Cobia there.

We also have a Thunderbird small cruiser that we may sell; not in as good as shape, though.

Joey,

The boat is located on Rt 32 between Franklin and Willimantic, CT. The sign at the end of the driveway is Al-N-Son (small engine repair shop). Their phone number is 860-423-1339. I do not know if the boat is for sale or not, but it doesn't look like it has had any use in a while. That pic is the only one I have. I stopped across the street and took a picture.

I couldn't find anything about early Glassmasters on line, and nothing that showed a cruiser. The logo on the blue behind the window says Glassmaster.

Good luck if you call. Let me know what happens.

This is really great, the boats that are out there.
That Sea king cruiser looks nice and restored and probably out of my Project range.
called the man in CT about that mystery glass master.
trying to find the year and model.
I hope all these boats find homes.

thank you

The Thunderbird that we have is a Navaho. The original info. on this boat says that the transom is rated for one or two engines up to 70 h.p.

Re:WANTED: DORSETT or BELLBOY, EAST COAST! 14 years 7 months ago #5355

May I make a comment?
It will cost as much to restore a boat you're only moderately happy with as it will the boat you really want. The cost to get it to you is only a small fraction of the whole. The Farallon in Indiana might be farther away than you want to go, but if it's the boat you'd really like to have that inconvenience pales in the face of the work that lies ahead.

Consider also that a 16 or 17' cuddy looks nice in photos but is a very small boat in reality. That rear open area is tiny.

Re:WANTED: DORSETT or BELLBOY, EAST COAST! 14 years 7 months ago #5356

Hello pete,
I agree the farallon is up there with the very best.
it does however have a bit of fiberglass work that may be beyond my abilities...
but, I am still going back and forth on that one...
thanks for the comment.
I have a passion for this particular era of American design from about 1945 to about 1960 that ranges from feathercrafts, to airstreams to these perfect little cabin cruisers.
haven't got one yet... but I'm still poking and trying.
learning by searching... like recently, the 1957 glasspar Del Mar, the Catalina of course and some of those Lonestars that just never come around... but the catalogues are great.
cheers
