TOPIC: Fiberglassic Magazine??

Fiberglassic Magazine?? 14 years 7 months ago #5773

While I was at my neighborhood Barnes & Nobel book store, I happen to notice there are several magazines dedicated to sail boats, both old and new, homebuilt and factory made, but not one magazine on Fiberglasics! Why???

Does anyone know of a magazine dedicated to old, small fiberglass power boats ?? ;)

You'll find that many of the boat magazines have a classic glass article. ACBS' Rudder publication (quarterly) is also featuring articles on glassic glass restoration as they come in. I did a couple, and owe them one more of a two part series on the 18DC when it's done.

True, so true. Even I considered it but facing facts long ago came the realization that this site in itself is just like a magazine (if you want to call it that) where something happens every day.

The perks:
1. It's free
2. Somewhat Green for the environment (no paper)
3. Available to the world
4. No subscription necessary
5. You can contribute any time you like.
6. You don't have to wait until next month to see something new.

Welcome.

Not to mention, you can't ask questions to a printed magazine! (Well, you can, but it won't answer,)

All very true, however a computer would be difficult to juggle during my morning "meditation" time!

Don't get me wrong I love this site and all the topics discussed.

I understand what you're saying, Scotsman. There are times (when you don't have internet access, especially!) that it would be nice to have a printed mag to flip through.

While we're wishing, how 'bout a cable TV show on 'Glassic restorations? Segments on glassing, engine rebuilds, maintenance, etc.. Probably the same situation tho about viewers, income, not enough revenue. There is one called Ship Shape TV I enjoy (most of the time) watching when I can. ;)
