TOPIC: Boat Seats

Boat Seats 14 years 10 months ago #625

I need to replace the original lounge-style seats in my Starcraft. I saw some in Overton's which seem to have a good review online. Has anyone used Overton's replacement seats? Any other recommendations for replacement seats? I am not trying to restore it to the original look, but just to upgrade since the originals are breaking down. I can't recover them because the hinges are broken too.

The hinges are probably just standard piano style hinges and wouldn't be any problem to replace. I have not used and seats from Overton's but a friend bought a set about 5 years ago and they are still in real nice shape.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Yes, I put overtons seats in our 'family boat'. I was able to use the bases from the original seats [carpeted], so I can't advise on the plastic bases. But the seats are holding up well after two sseasons. When I figured the cost of having an upholstery shop redo the old ones, and the cost of new foam cores, it was cheaper to buy new ones.
