My boat doesn't have a horn, so I decided to search for a period piece. At first I thought about a small trumpet style one, but while salvaging through my local marine mechanics boat lot a couple of weeks ago, I found this. It's an Attwood chrome electric horn. I can't believe how heavy this small horn is. The horn workings are cast into both of the top and the bottom of the chrome housing. It's fairly small too. It's more befitting of that 70's look, but isn't plastic like that Glastron version found on the CV's. It sounds really great. It only cost me $10 too. I have to admit, I was very hesitant to drill holes in my nice looking bow and mess up the original lines and clean look.

I got out to the lake for the first time with it today to try it out.

\"too soon old,too late smart\" my pap

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“

Thanks for the compliments.

You did a really nice restoration job with that dual trumpet air horn. Looks great.

The boat is a 14' 1970 Glastron V-142 SkiFLite with a 1965 Merc 500.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Nice horn Aqua. The boat is great, dunno if I could have drilled the holes in such a boat.

I debated it for several days. I wasn't sure if I wanted to disrupt the clean look and lines of the bow. I closed my eyes, as I plunged the drill bit into gelcoat. After seeing how it looked up at the lake, I feel pretty good about my decision. This boat also came with no gauges, so I added a period Aquameter speedometer and tach that I also salvaged. They look new and only cost me $15 for the pair, plus one spare speedo. (three gauges-$15)
