It's a beautiful lake and it doesn't matter how many times we've taken a trip to the ocean, we always stop at Lake Crescent for pictures. This year we took a pit stop at the Ranger's station and then went down to the boat ramp for pics. Beautiful turquoise water. And a lovely protected cove, it's shallow so the colors really show thru.

Saw a pic that Peter posted at John's Old Merc forum of his boat sitting at that boat ramp's dock, it's just gorgeous!

Thanks Dr. Go, Ed,

The photo was indeed a "scream" capture from a Sony Action Cam (similar to Go Pro). Very few days on the lake are like that - glass like water, warmish temps, no one out and on a weekend to boot! I didn't want to go in, an empty fuel tank forced my hand : )

Your rig just brings back great memories for me as a kid. I lived on a river on a dead end road. Several residents were boaters in the 50's/60's. One had a wooden Speedliner with a Scott 60, the other had an 80 Merc like yours on what looked like a very flat (short shaft rig for sure) boat with a very short flat top windshield, turquoise deck on white hull. No idea what it was. We always passed his house to get to ours and I would look for the open garage door. That motor looked so tall/big on that boat. The Speedliner sadly got stolen. It was found burned about half way and motor gone. Somewhere I have the picture of that boat on the ground as he brought it back home. I bet you smiled through every sip of that fuel. My brother has traveled from Wisconsin through Washington and made a big 6,000 mile loop. I sure would love to do that one day...his pictures are amazing! Your rig is highly functioning Art! Safe boating to you and thanks for the info on the camera.

The Sea King is way cool. Nice to see something different. The colors and cowl designs really work on all the early 60's red and white Sea Kings. A crackin' look.

Boring Sunday and looking at old pix. This was a 13 Ally raced with a Merc 700, lunched motor. This back in the 70's. Put a 500 on it built by my North side Chitown Merc wizard everyone called Uncle Ralph, Ralph Kozan (Midwest equivalent on Doc Frankenmerc). Moved the wheel over a bit, made a 2 seater and ran a solid 50 mph. Boat was SOOO much FUN! 1st pic paint and rigging, Second "they way I rolled, prepared for anything"! Wish I still had it as for SURE I would have a Merc stack on it!

Looks like power. How are those side draft carbs working out for ya. Lots of folks complained about them saying they leaked fuel on the aft side because of the backward slant. I had them on my AMC 327 in the Century Sabre and they were great. If you have any leaking or dripping problems let me know and I can "splain how to fix any problems.

Nice. They both look great. That is one beautiful cruiser you have! These pictures are not my motor, but a person can dream. From the last Tomahawk National Outboard show I attended a few years back.

I always thought they were one of the coolest engines/motors. Years back I picked one up for $50. thinking I would fix it up but it was way too far gone, block was trashed. I managed to save most of the peripherals and sold 'em on eBay.
Made a shadow box for the coolest part and use it as a trophy case.

'67 18' Larson All American with '67 Merc. 950 ss. First run since 2007. Fuel pump rebuilds, fuel lines, internal wiring harness replacement, lower unit seals and impeller. Fueled her, primed her and off she went!!! A neighbor gave me the entire setup in 2021....I felt like I had to name her "Grand Larsony".
