Hi it’s been a long time since posting, Love the new site it looks great. I have a ton of old boat post cards that need to be scanned and posted so stay tuned.
Last spring I replaced the transom in my 1963 Starcraft, the transom I pulled out was the original kind of rotten but still doing it’s job. I added a tilt and trim plate and installed a tilt tube on the 66 Evinrude 100S so I could use modern cable steering. The bare aluminum on the boat was cleaned with Alumiprep and then treated with Alodine then primed with a two part aircraft epoxy primer and then painted with urethane paint. The transom wood was glued together with Gorilla glue (the stuff foams up really bad and you only have about a 15 min working window) then I coated the wood with resin and painted it with urethane paint. There is over 100 screws and bolts holding the transom on.

Good to be back I hope all the great people I have met on this site are doing well.

Welcome back Pat! Really looks good. I would love to see some closeups of the tilt tube setup!

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Thank's it came out nice ,now i just need to paint the rest of the boat.
The tilt tube works reslly well.I drilled the Evinrudes transom brackets and then inserted Heli-Coils.
I will post some better pictures that I have on another computer.

Nice work and a pretty Rude. I'd love to have it. Is this pic close enough to boating?

Well done!!!!! I have an old Starcraft sitting down the street from me that I keep looking over. Your giving me the motivation to go look at it and see if they want to sell it!
