I need help. I just bought this boat and can't find any information about it. It is a Gale 22 jay-vee Marine Kirkland Wa. It looks to be well built. Thanks

Some pics would be good. It's always easier that way.

Good work Deanlofall thats just like it. The page is the only mention that I have seen on this boat. Low production due to failed company I'm guessing.

I got hold of one of the original owners a couple years back.
Somewhere I have notes/pics of both models they produced.

Hi Folks!

I just found this 5 year old+ forum. If anyone is still on the air and interested, I am the nephew / partially raised by John Vandermay who made these boats. Would love to connect and see if there are any boats left in the water.

I worked on them a bit when I lived with my uncle during college, as did another nephew after me, and I can give you a bit of history of the different models, inclduing the predecessors he began to experiment with just after WWII, as well as the two models which followed the 22'.

My parents owned a 22' and I grew up on those models, so it is still my favorite. Come on, it has fins based on a 57 Chev!

Best!

I'm interested in hearing about the history of these boats Joe.
Does your family have any old literature?
Who designed the hull? I heard rumor that Monk helped with the hull shape itself?
