TOPIC: 1962 dorsett catalina

1962 dorsett catalina 14 years 6 months ago #9193

for a few years now ive been working on rebuilding a 62 dorsett catalina. it had sat out in the elements after my parents were divorced. my grandfather had given it to them and we used to have so much fun on the boat i just dont want to give up on it. when i got out of the service, i set about trying to get it sea worthy or so i thought. the old engine runs, but the stringers, floor and transome were all shot. so i gutted the thing. to my dismay, the stringers were rotten and eaten away by termites so i got no measurements or anything from them. does anyone have measurements or pics i could use as a reference to get me started. its just an isoglass shell right now and has been for about 2 yrs as i havent been able to do much with it or find any info to help me out untill i found this site. thank you for any help.

Can you post a few pictures of your interior. We might be able to give a few hints in the right direction but need to see where you are at.
