TOPIC: Burial Service for Inline Six

Burial Service for Inline Six 9 years 7 months ago #108076

I thought I would drop a line to let those that helped me a couple of summers ago with my 150hp L6. I was having ignition problems intermittently and with a lot of help from the forum, it was narrowed down to the trigger in the distributor failing. It ran like a big black Mercury for the rest of that summer, duck hunting that winter and such all the way thru this past winter. Took it out last weekend to try some crappie fishing. Running across the lake, lost power, slowed down, and I turned it around towards the boat ramp. Pulling the plugs, #4 piston must have vaporized, the hole was plugged with aluminum particles.

It was good while it lasted, sold the boat and trailer to someone that is going to use it for fishing on "pump back" water.

Still have the 140hp going on my PowerCat.

Thanx again for the ignition solving skills!
