TOPIC: Mercury Parts Suppliers

Mercury Parts Suppliers 14 years 4 months ago #10890

On the 4th of July I bought a boat. It is a 1960 Lone Star Monterey. It is equipped with a 35 H.P. Mercury 300. It runs, but I'm having it looked at and repaired to make sure it continues to run. I am curious if there ar any parts houses that specialize in Old Mercurys? Also, does anyone have a reccomendation on a good repair manual? This is my first motorboat and I know next to nothing about outboard motors. I've restored old cars and I'm pretty handy, but I would like a good reference book or two.
Thank you,

For older Mercs... you can't beat store.eastcoastmarineservice.com/

That said, there are a lot of places that still have parts for those motors.

Merc service manuals are best, but the Seloc is okay.

MERC 300
1960 service manual p/n 90-25500

They pop up on eBay from time to time.

Good luck.

Well, I live in Seattle so I have had my '71 Merc serviced by Brad at Sea Way Marine www.sea-way.com/
- They seem to have no problem with parts and I know they ship parts all over the world - I think that's a way bigger chunk of their business than us local guys are...
