TOPIC: Starting to figure out my (1994?) 40 horse

Starting to figure out my (1994?) 40 horse 6 years 3 months ago #137257

Starting to try and figure out some things with this 40 hp merc I was given. I would like to get new trim for it and maybe paint it, as it's not in very good shape, and in the last year year or so I have taken up auto painting. Ned to get it running first.

Sold all my boat stuff years ago after the fire that consumed out '62 Power Cat with the '63 Merc1000. Wife figured we get kayaks. Then she saw this cute boat (not motor or seats) and wanted to buy it so I could fix it up. Whippee. Sold all my extra boat stuff (a bunch of it) years ago after the fire, all the stuff we stored indoors. Sigh.

I think this motor (the cowl at least) is a '94. Innards look to be of that vintage as well. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Frank

Looks newer, but what's the model/serial number? That'll tell you what it is for sure.
