Who made this style power trim switch?? 3 years 10 months ago #143839

My parts guys don't recognize it as a Mercury part, but it was definitely made to fit the 1960s square control box.

FYI, Thom found one on eBay, told me about it, and now we know the mfr and some sources for the switch.
Seems it was made for OMC control levers, but works very well on the MerControl box.

Master Ed,...
I have received the OMC trim switch, but I have not confirmed it will bolt onto the '60-'70s square Mercontrol box.
I hope life slows down a bit, so I can take time to answer & post. It sure looks like it should.

I agree, far too much drama so far this year!! I read a review of the switch at Amazon and the guy said it fit the Mercontrol handle very well. The OMC guys were complaining because they didn't like how it fit. Fancy that!!

So I will bet that it fits and even if it's not Perfecto-Mundo, the Doc can finesse it into place!!

Take care down there!..........ed

I liked the idea of using heat shrink in that one picture so that the cord behaves while you focus on driving and trimming without tangling. For the old controls. Of course those turn signal controls on Doc new toy takes it to another level for trim and transom while using a foot throttle. After seeing this post and the link to those switches I almost bought one but thought I should wait to see if I even do power trim on my non trim motor. Egg before the chicken?
