TOPIC: part location teaser

part location teaser 2 years 5 months ago #146743

Would anyone like to tell me where this rubber piece goes? I took off the power head and as I was cleaning the lower section, top to scrap off the old gasket, this rubber piece fell to the ground . I was thinking it belonged somewhere close to where my finger is pointing. I want to put the powerhead back on but don't know how critical this piece is?

thanks much

I never was much of a Merc guy as others can attest but if you go to this site and put in the info on your motor you can see parts diagrams which show the pictures and placements. Being old I would think it broke off of somewhere.

Goes right there glued on it prevents rattles between the cowl and steering bar.
