I have my gauge panel ready to install. I want to prewire everything just to make hookups easier.

I have a Quicksilver Tachometer. What should the pulse-switch be set to for a 1978 1400? The tachometer from the boat it was on... only has "12V" "GRD" and "ALT". The new tach has "IGN=(12V)", "GRD=(GRD)". and the 3rd terminal is "SEND=(ALT)"... but what should the switch be set to?
CHOICES ARE: 2P/4C, 3P/6C, 4P/8C, 5P, and 6P?
It's already set to 6P- which I think is correct for Mercs with an Alternator like mine. But checking to be sure...

Thanks...

That should be it for an inline 6.
