A friend gave me this Old Merc ..Says his Grand Dad Had it for a long time then the water pump went bad so he put it in storage for quite awhile .. Still seems to have good Comprtion and shifts ..Serial numbers I believe are 1592181 ..I cant find them in any chart Ive looked at ..Says 35 HP Twin on it ...So my question is Can I get a prop and a water pump impeler for it easy enought ?? Are they reliable ..?? Im guessing late 60s very early 70s ..
Thanks Larry

The link above indicates 1963 Larry. Nice find, and a FREEBIE at that! You're a lucky man.

I kinda like those old Merc Big Twins. I've got two later ones - a '66 and a '69 - and both run well. I have some powerhead bits and pieces for those older twins like yours if you run into anything.

Also, yours is a long shaft (20-inch transom height) model...

Thanks for the replys ..Nope I couldnt talk him down any lower ..Hard guy to deal with .Even made me haul it Myself ...L.O.L... I was looking for that full number in the other charts I found . Now I see its in a run of numbers ..Ill have to hang onto that website . Ive been running in to good deals this month . I found a 80 hp 4 cyl . Guy had it pushing a 28 foot pontoon .One day it wouldnt Idle for him so he talked to a dealer .They told him it needed a Carb job . 7 hours labor at $85 an hour Pluss parts . So he bought a new outboard from them .I gave the guy $200 for it .The fuel line from the pump to the carbs was seeping gas .I pulled her apart and the fuel line was deteriaing inside the line and sending little pieces of rubber to the carbs making the neadles stick open and flooding her ..Took me a whole hour and a half to fix her .L.O.L...I put it on my early 60s Aristocraft and with a 19 pitch prop pushed her up to 42 MPH with 2 people in it . Not a bad little motor But hey ... Its a Merc !!!

The impeller is the same one used in many of the smaller 4 cyl Mercs.
Mercury Marine part number 47-89983T.
It is also available through NAPA under Sierra Marine part number 18-3007.
Here is a link to a complete parts break-down of your Merc.

The link doesn't work quite right, but if you open it, click on Merc ury, then click on model 350, then click on your serial group (first set) you can surf the various parts break-downs of your Merc.
