TOPIC: 1975 1500 Runs Again

After a long project it just made noise today. Hope to get it fully rigged and on the water Monday.

Noise control. Its Sunday and all my neighbors are home. It knocks down the noise a ton when I drap a wet towl over her.

Yep this boat is on youtube. I post a lot. Ive had a 1965 900 1966 1100 1969 1250 and now a 1975 1500 on it in the past 1.5 years

I like testing motors. If I can get this one dialed in I doubt Ill ever take it off. Should get me to the 70 mph mark or better if the conditions are right and I feel like holding it open.

The 1250 ran me 65-66 on the GPS. I hope this will do better.


I really dont want to go much faster, Id like to make it into a neat drag boat that topped out at 60 ish mph, just with a ton of acceleration.


Right now Im trying to figure out a fuel problem, its burning rich and is boggy.

I thought that i recognised that boat ..On your one video your running with a 1100 on it near a bridge ..Near the end I see the motor jump then you become unhappy ..What happened there ??? I had a 1500 on my Challenger years ago with a Jack Plate ..Im not sure of actual MPH due to a time long ago before GPS ..L.O.L..Ild say it was at 70 or knocking on its door ..Almost took her over twice ..So you be carefull there ...Im thinking about putting a 115 back on her ..I havnt run it in almost 10 years ..If yould happen to come accross a reasonable one let me know .. How long have you owned your Carlson ??

That was one of those days where the light was wrong and it was super calm and it was very hard to read the water.

I ran over a nearly dead wake at speed. The light was just right and the water was so glassy I could not see a 1/2 foot nearly dead wake. It put me up in the air just enough to be uncomfortable .

So I called it a day.
