Cone is a vibration dampner?
Square nut used originated from a very large purchase of surplus of Military Origin following the end of WWII that ECK had purchased.

when installing the porewhead the nut MUST be installed in one direction or the powerhead wont go on. SO the powerhead acts as a lock for the nut. a hex nut can turn loose with the powerhead on.
