My Dad is looking for a newer Merc, 25-40 hp for his Herter boat.Since he sometimes uses it in Florida he is looking for something that can stand up to saltwater a little better than his old '63 35hp one did. Does anyone know what year Mercury started using better materials for corrosion protection? Thanks

A late 80's 35 HP ( 150 LBS ) is essentially the same motor as the 63 35 HP. The 2 cylinder 35 OMC of 82 is listed in the brochure at 120 LBS Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic.
