If I had it I would never sell it.
After you sell it you just have the money, and not a piece of history.

Nope not worth 10,000$ IMO. But the high price should keep low ballers and tire kickers out of the guy's hair. Serious collectors with cash to spend will more than likely make more realistic offers. Or they guy will just end up keeping it.

If I ever decide to sell mine - I wouldn't take less than $10K either.
The last one I sold for a friend needed a total restoration and it sold for $4K + shipping.
I've got an NOS block and all the unique Twister I components - I just need to build the powerhead, re-surface the unique exhaust log components and make up a set of the unique gaskets. Maybe this year - maybe not.

I have to ask......what makes the "Twister" so special? I can see the lower unit but what makes the power head so unique?

Many things. And they changed over the years as they made the Twister.

The original Twister had 3 carbs just like most every other motor made, but they made and external exhaust log to run the exhaust outside and down to the lower unit. Easy to spot. Also they had a special crank for a different firing order.

When believe the T1 was the first 6 carb motor as well as the T2. The cowls went to a large bulky looking thing with rubber straps on each side and pins to hold it on.

All of them had the special speedmaster lower unit.

Doc can make a better write up than me. I just know the basics.

The Twister I - like the one for sale on CL - only has (3) standard WMK carburetors and is basically a 1350, with a shorty mid, super speedmaster lower unit, and a large vertical exhaust tuner 'log' on the port side.
Standard 1350 crankshaft, and I 'think' the intake ports were unique - not sure.
The idea was to be able to go racing with the dry stacks becoming outlawed in so many areas.
I believe the C-6 was the first (6) carb hot-rod.
I 'think' it was a 1350 block too, but may have had the unique crankshaft later used in the Twister II & Twister IIx.
The unique crankshaft changed the firing order to make three cylinder tune against the other three cylinders, determined to perform much better than when two cylinders were tuned against the next two cylinders and then the last two were tuned to follow and set up tuning of the exhaust flow for the first three cylinders again.
The Twister II was built using an early 1400 block, the unique timing order, & six carbs.
The Twister IIx was an upgrade of the T-II in that it had a unique exhaust tuner extension and was designed to fit onto a v6 racing mid-housing so the Sport J hulls could also run v6 classes.
(I may have some of the last stuff messed up - just what I recall being told & some of the attached pictures were snagged off the internet)
