i just saved a mercury kf 5 from the bottom of a boat and need some help on where to find a new tiller arm and mount for it also how to go about repairing the swivel right know the motor will not turn to either side. the motor has good compresion but has fuel in it need to know how to go about cleaning everything don't know when it last ran here are some pictures

I always say get the motor running or evaluate the condition before spending a penny on the " pretty stuff " as in paint / recoil handles / brackets.

If you walked over from next door I would probably have the handle

People should always post their approximate location , your neighbor might help and have parts.

Great find! Seems to me you don't see many of these found with those lower cowls (now I am not implying that the lower cowls are rare, just seems like the motors I find around here typically have lost the lower cowls along the way), and this one looks to be in nice shape... even if it doesn't run, I would keep it as a static display, all cleaned up... they are great looking motors! (I am a design/aethetic fan myself!)
