I love em too. Wish I still had my restored 300 and the little whaler it was on.

Very nice job. What kind of condition was it in when you started the work?

Sorry Thom, it is already picked up by the customer.

The motor was nice before I started the re-store, paint was orginal, which always makes the job easier. The power head was in pretty good shape also, cleaned it up inside and out, new rings seals, hoses, and so on.

Fun re-store!

Better than new. Is the prop the customer's responsibility? I noticed that on your last two motors, the props were not polished. A nice touch might be to polish the brass.

Yes I have thought, and have desired to do that, the problem is time, and time already spent on the motor.

I know that sounds bad but I try to keep the motor prices down, and things like that increase the time in each motor which in turn increases the prices. This is a area that most customers can handle them selves, if they request it I will do it.

Good call. Prop polishing is time consuming. I spent 8 hours on the stainless steel chopper. Bronze is easier than steel because it is softer, but still hours of time can be spent. PowerTech props have two prices for their props, satin finish is the standard price and polished is extra. My repair prop shop only finishes in satin because of the time factor.

So beautimus.

I'm looking for a nice boat to hang an old 65hp merc on.

Good to see a restorer that truly loves his work.
