Dave,
Am I correct in that the Q indicated the mid-housing was 15" and the H indicates a shorter mid-housing - about 12" or so??
Thanks,
Thom

yes that is right. the Q was for runabout and the hydros complained so the H came out for hydro and then the runabouts shaved there transoms down and got lower center of gravity.it stuck.

Those tiny little Mercs intrigue me but i gotta ask...they are labeled as a "racing" motor when they look like something that would struggle to push a 10 foot aluminum fishing boat...

How fast would they effectively push a small boat(say a small hydro)??

started working on the KG7Q and checked the serial # 532888Q on the block so it is a factory Q motor. only needed cosmetics and 2 condensers and 1 coil.it runs.
