Jeff, maybe it should be pointed out that this pic was taken this past Saturday at lake piru and also that yellow hull is about 40 years old. Way cool.......

Good point Mike... :P

Jill_s shot the picture at Lake Piru last weekend.

Its a 1970 Mercury 1350 mounted to a 1970 Challenger Semi-V hull(not sure of the exact model). It rides like crap in the chop as its nearly a flatbottom but corners like its on rails...im sure you can attest to that one Mike... ;) lol

Im having second thoughts about actually putting this on the G3...this boat is just WAY too much fun to tear it apart!!

Yeah, it is alot of fun, haulssss butt and rides way diffrent then my green boat with the 175hp merc... When the time is right start rebuilding your g3 and a nice mercury motor will come your way. If it were me and I had that 1350 short shaft it would be a no brainer.
My g3 after im done with it will have that 90hp mariner long shaft and a manual jack plate. Heck by time you get to your resto on the g3 I may be starting mine too..... Your g3 after a rebuild will be so nice that it might be a no brainer for you too... I always keep my eyes out for ya on a good deal for a motor so keep 500 bucks tucked away when the time comes because you may need to jump...
Jill's big old wood boat is huge and beautiful. She is very lucky to have that and it too has a sweet mercury...

This is an awesome photo! Is there any way I could get a high resolution shot of this? I would love to have a large one printed for my office wall. Thanks,

Doug

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.
