Put the magnito back together after polishing the points and cleaning everything up. Replaced all the plug wires and related procedures. This spring is laying on the tray. I checked the limited list on the manuals but do not see it listed or shown anywhere. Anyone know where it came from or did it just fall from a shelf on my bench.
Cal

My beater laptop with the manual pictures, spring not shown.

63..: I just opened one up two days ago , will go to my workbench , 1st guess is under the center brass strap , that goes over to the CENTER coil wire carbon pickup .? I also have a SELOC manual here.
NO , I dont see any round spring in my unit, nor on page 5-16 of the SELOC, book... for TYPE I Points system.

that spring is not part of the unit.

have you bench tested the mag for good spark yet before you re-install the mag

insert plugs in plug wire boots....hold plug 1/8-1/4" away from mag housing and rotate mag shaft, spark will jump from plug to mag body

then if you get spark on all 4 ... use a 6" piece of rubber hose that will slide over the mag shaft tightly ..insert drill bit in one end of hose and clamp it tightly in place.....connect drill bit end to a drill motor, the open end of the hose, slide on to the mag shaft and bench test for 5 - 10 minutes form 6k rpm to 1K rpm spark should jump min 1/4"at all speeds

EDIT: I had to edit this 6 times  I just had a few teeth extracted and a little buzzed, if I am not clear enough let me know I can post some pics

Great idea, I'll do it. After I put it together I did the screwdriver test while turning the shaft by hand and got a spark, now I'll do the drill thing. Never thought of that but sounds good to me.
Sorry about the teeth I could have taken them out no charge.
