TOPIC: 1959 Mercury MK58A 45 Cool guy trim question

1959 Mercury MK58A 45 Cool guy trim question 12 years 6 months ago #60142

I noticed some of this style engine has extra chrome/stainless trim. Anyone have a set for sail?

I have a new old stock bottom trim I will need to check for top it would be a used one however. You would also need the right screws for it as well. I do notice that your bottom cowl does not have the screw holes for the chrome wrap so I doubt that your 59 x 58A ever had the set. Typically the Deluxe 58A came with the set in either stainless or chrome in various colors.
You certainly would not be "wrong" for making your 58A a deluxe model. It would look nice as it is or as a deluxe.

Email me what those parts are worth to you. I have yet to finish paying for this engine nor have I picked up yet. Oh well this entire boating event I have done full ass backwards. LOL

I will take a look over the next day or so to be sure I have the upper and lower. I know the NOS one I paid $40 for it. The dress screws are pennies each and the other chrome wrap will be a used one.
I just had surgery so getting around is a bit on the slow side for me.

Let me get this engine picked up. Maybe in next 2-3 weeks. Once I get it home and actually own it, than we can make a deal on what you have. Thanks Dave **** Now I have to find steering "stuff".
