TOPIC: Powerplant for the 1965 Nylox Phantom

Powerplant for the 1965 Nylox Phantom 12 years 4 months ago #63643

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on newer motors vs older motors to power my Nylox Phantom. It is rated for 100 H.p. in 1965 and I read somewhere that you could go bigger but I want to know if that is true.

it will only run better if it's an Evinrude! HA HA!

It all depends on how strong the transom is, and if you can find a Short motor (unless you want a jackplate or are willing to raise the transom. I believe any inline built after the 70s will be pretty heavy.
