TOPIC: Midsection Interchangability

Midsection Interchangability 14 years 6 months ago #7399

Anyone know off hand if the midsection off a 1967 110HP longshaft will interchange with the midsection of a 1963 100HP longshaft?

no you will need a 1965 and newer with the right exhaust adapter for the 1100.
I have 20 inch mids pre 1965 and after 1965 snap a pic of the bottom of the block if you can.

On the 64 and earlier models the exhaust adapter was part of the bottom cowl but when they changed the cowl for the controls to connect inside the cowl they changed the exhaust adapter too.
send me a message mister boat guy 63 at live dot com if you need further explanation

Thanks for the info -

So - if they are not interchangeable as far as actual installation, are the mounting points for the swivel assembling the same. Two reasons why I ask - I have a nice PTT unit from an early 80's 6 cycl. I was hoping it would fit the mounting points on the 63 1000. Sadly, no. Close, but no. So I was looking for a midsection to use as a test bed to come up with a solution. But, then I saw a power tilt trim from a 67 110hp. Will that fit the mit of a 63 1000?
