If I recall correctly, this one had the louvered blue stripe cowling.
When he purchased it last year as a recently rebuilt powerhead, he found that he couldn't make a full revolution with the crankshaft before it would come up against something.
I tore it down for him and found a mouse's stash of sunflower seeds & other bits-n-pieces in the dome of one of the cylinders.
There was no urine damage, and the cylinders and pistons all supported it having been recently rebuilt.
I offered to reassemble, but he passed at the time.
I'm not sure if he reassembled or not, but it was a nice powerhead.
I can't recall if it had the shorty DSH (drive shaft housing) or not.
I also don't recall if it had the low water pick-up lower unit, but Gary would be able to answer all the questions, as he is a Mercury green tank & H motor collector.

UPDATE:

I learned today that the powerhead is still disassembled, the DSH is the original 15 inch 'short shaft' and the lower unit is an original xs low water pick-up gear case.
There is a 5" Bay Kit included that could be flipped for some cashola.
The seller is well versed in properly caring for disassembled old Mercs, so I'm confident he has kept things lubed and protected in a proper environment.
If I didn't already have way too many 1500xs Mercs, I'd buy this one, reassemble as a shorty, and keep it for myself.
