Jim, the oldmercs.com site used to list a few of the hoses, but they were very high $$$ IMO. Most have been discontinued, NLA. I was advised by a very trusted "Merc guru" (Joe at FergusonPooleMarine.com) to source brass "barbed" hose fittings in the appropriate size and config (straight, 90 deg elbow, etc.) (Make sure they're a quality piece, that does not restrict the flow with a small inside diameter.) You can then purchase enough marine fuel line (probably need two or three different sized for all the different lines) and use spring clamps to secure the hose to the fittings. (I've seen worm clamps used, but spring style are what Merc now uses if I'm not mistaken.)

It's a project, but once done it makes life easier reassembling your power head or pulling it apart in the future for maintenance. It also gives you piece of mind that you're not leaking fuel or sucking degraded rubber into your delicate fuel system.

Good luck with the project, let the gang know if you have any questions. They've always been great about helping out with tips and advise for me! Please post plenty of pics as you go, we love to watch over your shoulder.

Agreed with all of the above. If it is the pump diaphragms you are looking for I got some off of boatparts.com I think. They have performed fine.

I've just done this (the 6x fuel lines) on a 1969 1000SS.

If you cut carefully, you can hacksaw the old hose and crimp off and save the threaded barb. You can also get plenty of brass fittings (I needed 1/8" NPT) off Ebay.

If any of the new fittings turn out to have a smaller ID than the old fitting, I'm just going to open them up on a lathe.

I bought enough fittings to do the whole motor (some just as spares), hose and spring clamps for about $50.

OK now I am a bit of a make it as near as it was when I am restoring a motor, however this what I do

I take the old line off, and cut the brass ferrules off and remove the hose. I first started with this tool and new ferrules ordered as I needed them.

However I have moved up to this tool and bought a kit of ferrules

I install new line on the old fittings using new ferrules.

You can use good duct tape in between the line and the ferrules if it is too loose before you crimp. Do not buy the cheap tape...how tight the fitting needs to be before you crimp you will soon learn.

My rule is it needs to be a snug fit, however too tight has never happen.

I bought a kit off of Ebay....many in the kit I will never use for they are too large unless I repair my air hose with and garden hose them.

When I started I bought as I needed them off of ebay, or from ace. Now I buy my refills from ace

Tall Texan, Thanks for the great advice. Looks like Ace has all kinds of great stuff that will help with lots of projects. By shopping there a guy could get enough hose and fittings for 50 dollars to re-plumb a dozen motors. The crimped on eBay also seems a good deal.

McMaster is like WW Grainger...Hey have a lot, however you paid a lot for it.

McMaster sells their crimping tool for $246 each
www.mcmaster.com/#hose-crimpers/=rcu2o8

I bought the same tool for $120
www.amazon.com/Milton-1626-Hose-Ferrule-Crimping/dp/B000I0QC2C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396415576&sr=8-2&keywords=ferrule+crimping+tool

McMaster sell their .687 Ferrules for $9.46 for 25
www.mcmaster.com/#hose-ferrules/=rcucx3

where I can buy 50 for $17 (less when I buy much more from Ace)
www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00ABZ3CAY/ref=sr_1_91_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1396415972&sr=8-91&keywords=ferrule+crimping+tool&condition=new

I buy a lot from Grainger and some from McMaster....however only when I cannot find it some other place
