TOPIC: Something strange happened today

Something strange happened today 10 years 7 months ago #92868

Scrapped a bunch of motors today. Two of them were Mk78A in rough shape / incomplete & stuck. I parted everything I could, so no cries of blasphemy please. The strange part? Against better judgement I decided to try getting the water jacket & exhaust covers off the complete but hopelessly stuck powerhead. Every single bolt on the exhaust plate came out without any problems. Same for the cylinder jacket cover. Both covers are amazingly clean & not pitted inside. Obviously, someone replaced the covers at some point. Unfortunately, they forgot to replace the pump impeller, because I found the bottom water inlet completely jammed with blades from the pump. That would have ended that engine in a hurry -

Anyway - I'll be selling a few Dockbuster parts, and there are 4 turtle tops for the MK 58A.

Let me know when you are selling what you are selling and how much.

One of the 78, and 75 that I bought at the N TX auction needs a few parts each to get them going or to be complete. I could get one going by taking from one however that just is not right.
