TOPIC: 1967 18' MFG to good home

1967 18' MFG to good home 10 years 2 months ago #100906

My Mom and Dad bought a new 18 MFG Tri Hull in 1967. I believe the model is a Corvair. The boat has about 300 hours on the 120 engine. The engine does run and was ran last winter to assess the condition of the engine, then was winterized again. The time has come to pass it on to a good home. The hull is immaculate except for some minor fading on the bronze colored top. The boat does need seats and some minor engine work. It has a new custom snap on cover that was bought about 4 hers ago and is in perfect shape. The Trailer is a Michigan Low Loader which has the axel that can be hydraulically lowered. I am not sure the condition of the Hydraulics though. We are located in Kankakee, IL, about 60 miles south of Chicago. He is just wanting to find someone that will appreciate the boat and possibly work to bring it back to her old glory. We have Title, and close to 50 years of paperwork on her. Any interest?

Copcraft,

Darn you for being so far away. = I'd like to have the MFG for fishing the Gulf of Mexico.

NO LUCK on catching John at home last PM. = Will try again later.

I still have this gorgeous 18 foot MFG Tri hull looking for a good home. It just needs very little love, and it would be water ready again. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Located in Kankakee, IL.

dlatshaw,

Supposedly, we are trying to find a person to haul it down to me in San Antonio BUT I won't scream too loud IF it goes to one of "our crowd & for keeps".
(I need it for live-lining & flyfishing out on the salt. = PERFECT boat for that.)

TO ALL:

EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT. = The 18ft MFG CONVAIR is coming to The Alamo City to stay. ======> A police friend of "copcraft" was coming to Ft Worth & is pulling the Convair on to SATX for a piece of the gas money.
(That worked out FINE.)

You can add me to the list of HAPPY MFG OWNERS.

Her new name will be (I think, unless I can think of a better one): PRINCESS NOEMI.
(after my much beloved/adopted daughter.)

madbohunk,

This boat/trailer is GEORGIOUS. - Nothing more or less than GEORGIOUS.
It also looks like it should be both smooth-riding & seaworthy "out on the salt".
(YES, the trailer needs sandblasting/repainting & the seats need recovering but I can deal with that. = I've already called "Traci", our local "one woman show" here in SA, when it comes to boat upholstery. = She said, "I'll 'work you in' sometime this Winter & will notify you when it's your turn.")

"COLOR ME": I'm PLEASED clear down to the ground with my GIFT. = THANKS to "Copcraft".
