i was taking this pic of a bear track in front of my garage ,when it ran behind me within 40 feet,it was behind me watching as i took the picture.
thats my foot in the pic. the track is 6 1/2 inches across the pad. i have seen bigger tracks but not in my yard,and i was hunting them then,its unnerving to see them without a gun. |

yep bob,i mowed our grass with my 357 magnum on my hip,lol,i was never afraid of any bear but this one spooks me,it killed a dog down the road.

yeah ron,im going to,she leaves at 4:30 am,it might have made the track yesterday morning while watching her get into her car.

i heard they have traps out for them,mostly because they killed a dog,and they are not afraid of people.
on tuesday a different bear got into my neighbors garbage and drug it into my yard,and when they tried to clean it up,they could hear it paceing back and fourth in the edge of the woods. |

ok,i have had enough of the bear that are here,one snarled at the neighbor lady a few nights ago in her strawberry patch,then a couple of days ago one growled at my sister in law,the game commision has a trap out but i think they have been traped before and are trap shy,im sorry to say it,but they have to go,before someone gets hurt.
especially someone in my family. im guessing some bonehaed is feeding them and they have lost their fear of humans,which are the most dangerous of bears. i hope the game wardens get them soon. |

Get your close neighbors aboard. You own a gun and a backhoe. Sometimes we just can't depend on authorities to protect us. And I fear that your assessment on feeding the bear is probably correct. When it comes to family, then I would have to take it into my own hands. Neighbors also.

john, i imagine it is out of season and don't want to see you get fined but like rob says protection comes first and if you hit em on your property you can claim self defense. who's to say the bear wasn't charging you. thats the exact reason why i recently got a shotgun and 3" 000 buckshot. ron

yep guys thats what i was trying to say,without saying it,lol.
my gun and my backhoe. i watch very closely when lorraine goes out to her car. i hope it stays away for its own good,the bad part is there is a huge boar,and a sow with cubs,both have been dangerous around here,i bet they are being fed by someone,its mateing season for bear,and they should not be staying in the same area this long. thanks for the concern robert and ron,and congrats on finaly getting your permit ron.i cant believe they make you get a permit for a shotgun in new jersey. heck here in pa. i have a concealed weapon permit,one semi in my truck or on me and a revolver in my house,that i also take camping. |

Do you have a bear skin rug yet ? I figure with your new big camper you're probably out and about ? BTW... I found a camper for you, for the short trips ? You have to save on gas you know ? In fact.... that may be you in the video ? The white shoes gave you away. just looks like the same pair in the bear paw print picture ? |

wayne,it hasn't been around for awhile,except last week my neighbor had his rifle out because he observed the bear watching my nephew and his buddy playing and riding bikes.
I still watch my wife with my 357 mag,as she goes out at 4:30 am to go to work.john |

Friday before I went to the hospital,that big bear showed me his teeth about 50 feet away,i took a shot from my 357 mag,as I was about to shoot the big boy I got afraid I might get fined by the game commission,so I put one shot beside him to scare him off but he didn't run too far,
. the game commission is bringing a bear trap tomorrow,hopefully they get him before I do,in hindsight I should have emptied my gun on him. |

yeah Robert if I see him again threatening my family,BANG.
the game warden set his trap last night,no luck yet. by the size of the track the warden thinks like I do that he is about 400 to 500 pounds.john pics to follow of the trap. |

the bear trap is still here,but he has been around ,he got into my neighbors garbage bin and dragged it down into my yard recently.
