TOPIC: Johnson long shaft 15 hp 4 stroke

Johnson long shaft 15 hp 4 stroke 9 years 9 months ago #97411

B) Howdy all, I just bought a mint like new 2003 Johnson outboard motor. It is manual start, manual tilt. I have it mounted on the back of my 26 ft Fiberform Cruiser. I am ordering an easy steer kit to steer it with my mercruiser out-drive. I would like to remove the tiller steering handle and relocate the emergency kill switch and rig up a push/pull throttle at the immediate front of the engine. Presently the throttle goes goes through a hose to just inside the cowling where it terminates at the Carb throttle shaft. Has anyone ever done this? I want to remove the tiller because I can then tilt the engine fully up and lock it in the up position.
Or are there other good ideas out there.

Thanks for pondering this one,

Tom
