More info on it- Guy is asking $400 Its a 1960, no title but had registration for boat and trailer.
Trailer is not road worthy, definitely needs tires maybe new axle and bearings. Is unsure about how bad the transom is.
I'm trying to get my hands on a flatbed to get it but i don't know anyone that has one so this might slip away.

vuyosevich,

What "hacks me off" is that it's in NJ.= Even as "the friendly neighborhood cheapskate", I think that it's a bargain at 400.oo.

I surely HOPE that one of "our crowd" gets/restores it

man thats cool looking... hope you can find someone with a trailer to get it.. even a landscaping trailer might work.. load the boat and trailer on backwards.. i've even had to do the 2 trucks and trailers deal before.. load the boat onto one trailer.. and just strap the trailer down to the other if you cant find something big enough for them together..

NJTriton,

U-HAUL, at least here in TX, rents flatbed trailers that will haul a boat/trailer for 22.oo a day & they will even hook up their "somewhat peculiar" trailer lights for you.
(I rented one of those to move a Honda Accord, with a DEAD AT, for a buddy about 30 days ago.)

Thanks Satx, I'll look into it for next weekend. Hopefully it'll still be available.

NJTriton,

May I suggest that you do what I do: Get a handful of 20.oo bills, make the deal, BUY IT & complete a Bill of Sale with the seller that describes the boat/motor/trailer, states that the agreed price has been paid in full & further states that the seller will allow it to stay in a safe/secure location for 30 or 45 days.
(It took me all of 15 minutes to create my Bill of Sale form on my laptop & then print several copies.)

just my OPINION, satx

Satx,
That's what I usually do as well. In NJ, if it's not titled, you need a BOS in ordered to get a new one issued. Thanks for the heads up. I'm all set to get the boat next weekend, I've setup up a trailer with a local rental place, and the guy told me he'd hold the boat for me. Looks like this one is going to be saved.

NJTriton,

EXCELLENT NEWS. = IF there was one of those hulls within a reasonable distance of The Alamo City (especially IF it was a TEXAS-built boat = There was once a company named PACESETTER in Waco that "reportedly" built a few 18-foot clones of the Manta Ray, "on special order".), I'd "be all over it".

I'm in Toms River. It's about a two and a half hour journey to go get this boat but I've wanted one foe a couple of years now and it's too good to pass up.

Hello guys, just a "heads up" I'm in Bergen county and last year I finally got around to getting a title for a boat I had. I had to petition the county court to give me ownership of vessel. 30 bucks and some paperwork. When the judge signs off on it, you then mail those papers to MVC with a check for $60 and you get a title. Never got around to doing the trailer, called last month to repeat the process and was told fees have gone up. It was NOW $300 to do the same thing ! Im sure it varies by county (NJ). For me, a notorious boat hoarder, this is a bummer or maybe a blessing lol. Trailers, under a certain size, with a BOS and current or expired registration is sufficient but I'm sure some of you jersey guys know that.

PS, that's a nice boat, very deserving of a proper resto
