Looks like work, but I do love that deck! I have enough projects, so I make a better enabler.

I bet the smell from the mouse nest he cleared out from that poor old motor can be smelled from 50' away!

Core Crafts were made in Bemidji, MN, my hometown. Primarily known as a canoe manufacturer and maker of hoods for Artic Cat snowmobiles, their runabouts were very rare even when new. They did made canoes into the early 1980's but their last runabouts came out in the late 1960's as I recall. I know they actually made a smaller runabout in their plant but this one looks like either a splash, which they surely could have done or something they bought from someone else and painted. Their history mostly disappeared when their first plant burnt down but the original office exsists as part of a towing business.

Their canoes were very nice for being fiberglass. They just couldn't quite get the weight down to what a lummie was and still have a strong canoe so they didn't. They were strong but a little heavy. Handled very nicely. I had one for years.

Thanks for that company history, pretty cool stuff. If I had that as my only boat project, I think it is cool enough for a keeper. Hope someone wants to save it. I have my hands full, so I posted it.
