I have 2 lower units from a OMC I/O. Is there away I can check out the electric shift. - Thanks Al

Take the Neg lead of your battery charger or battery and clamp to clean, unpainted metal on the gearcase.

At the electric shift cable, connect the Positive lead to one of the 2 wires. Spin the driveshaft in a clockwise direction as viewed from the top. The propshaft should turn.

Switch over to the other wire, do the same. The propshaft should turn the opposite direction from the first wire.

The Green wire, as I recall, is Fwd and the Blue wire, Reverse.

Thank you Ed, These I/O's are a new animal to me. Besides these two lowers I have three intermediate units, and the motor. They are off a 1968 Grady White that had a tree fall on the bow. The 225 Buick should still run It is free and has compression. Thanks again for answering.
