TOPIC: Volvo-Penta AQ170 Exhaust help

Volvo-Penta AQ170 Exhaust help 9 years 9 months ago #96707

P/O had head gasket replaced but the shop failed to reinstall the 4 bolts that attach the exhaust manifold to the elbow that goes down to the bellows.

Can anyone tell me which bolt size, length and pitch, they might be?

They look to be 3/8 bolts...

Try looking at the classic glastron website. That is a popular motor in those boats

Did you pay this shop? Did they forget to put back in? If so call them and have them correct the situation.

I'm pretty sure the bolts are 3/8 course. I picked some up at the local hardware store and got one in 4 turns with fingers.

Previous Owner had the work done....I was given this boat after they thought it had a cracked block.

Replaced a freeze plug and rebuilt the raw water pump and she's purring like a frisky kitty!
