TOPIC: Help on my 1976 Fiberform 26 ft Cruiser

Help on my 1976 Fiberform 26 ft Cruiser 10 years 1 month ago #99712

Here are some photos of my 1976 Fiberform. It has a new 300 hp+ 351 Ford engine in it with fresh water cooling. It features a full head and shower, hot and cold water, refer, stove and Kitchen sink :-) A fly-bridge with full upper controls.

90 gallon fuel tank. I have had it four months and now have most projects completed and taking it out on the mouth of the Columbia River at Astoria Oregon.

Can any of you tell me what was in the opening in the transom from the Swim platform to the aft deck? There are two pieces of wood at a slant and there are holes on the aft portion of the opening on the bottom?? There must have be a portable plug of some sort that would block waves from coming over the stern onto the deck?

If you have any information on this I would appreciate hearing from you.

They need to be smaller than 2000 pixels, and less than 1mb.

There was probably a door there and those were the stops. I've seen the same on many other boats, and my old 4 winns had it also. Door can swing sideways or from below up. Screw holes are where the hinges were mounted. Probably on the wood there is a hole or indication of a sliding bolt or somthing like that.

Also, as an FYI, the names of folks are on the left at the top of the picture. Karma is what you give folks if you like thier answers .

Boat looks great!

Thanks much my friend. Yes I figured that there was probably a door in that area. I am thinking of putting two more pieces of wood parallel to the existing ones about 5/8 inch apart and cut up a piece of marine hard plastic 1/2 inch wide and just slip it in the slots when needed.
