TOPIC: First Post, Old Boat

I joined because it looks like there is a lot of good information here.

Pictured is my 1976 IMP Aztec which I purchased new. My daughter and friends literally grew up around her. I have always kept her in a garage in the winter and in a boat house in the summer.18 years ago I replaced the flooring with treated plywood and covered that with several coats of fiberglass then new carpeting. No week spots since. The universal joints in the out drive were replaced about the same time. The interior is original except for the three cushions on top of the aft compartments. I was able to locate the original manufacturer of the vinyl who was still in business and obtained several rolls of the embossed and plain material. When it comes time to do the seats I have plenty material. Last month I pulled the lower unit down and replaced all the seals. What a job. In addition to the top shown I have the original top, side curtains and camper top. I also have 8 props of various pitch.

They say the two happiest days of a boat owner is when you buy it and sell it. Well that won’t be the case with me. I have really enjoyed this boat and it will be a sad day when I let her go but I am 70 years old now and I realize that day is near.
