Anyone replaced the transom in the boat below? I seperated my 60 slickcraft and re-painted but when i look at this boat i really don't see how to split the rear. It's intimidating!! Any suggestions, comments, or ideas would be appreciated. And...does anyone have new rub strip (the rubber i need to remove to remove screws)

Check out www.classicglastron.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=20

It's the projects in progress section on classicglastron.com

I did a quick search and didn't find anyone working on the v-162
but glastron had several models that were built in a similar way.

There is a ton of info and alot of helpful people on that site.

Have fun and good luck.

splitting the top on that isnt too hard . if you climb underneath the splashwell you will see where Glastron glassed the top and bottom together , making the cut easier to do .

you can get new rubber from either WEFCO of TACO , you might have to provide a cross section sample to them so they can match it up .

What is wrong with the transom? Can you use seacast on it? I used it and it worked awesome!

It's soft and is flexing.
