TOPIC: Looking for feedback on Tahiti 16SS boats

I was able to get some awesome replies on a previous thread, so going to try it again for some useful info...i did find some already but figured I'd ask on my fav site as well...

Ive got a 19 and so does my brother... heavy hulls but dead solid and great riding.

Seller stated they were going to convert boat into a jetboat?
Floor is soft, unsure about transom, original seating, said it was repainted, trailer looks little rough....trying to figure out which day over weekend I can go look...i like hearing dead solid....

50/50 either a POS or possible what I'v been looking for, he just said i needed to come look, said its a project boat? can't just throw in the water and go...mentioned above issues....

its about 2.5 hours away.... think I'm taking a road trip this weekend.

I'm planning on leaving the house fairly early and head that way.
the area its located in looks very nice. Chain of Lake area.

When I talked to the seller he didn't seem very knowledgable of the questions I was asking...I mean I asked about the transom and he said he never really checked? with a 65hp hanging on it I wouldn't think it would be too messed up...but ....

I started out wanting to redoing an old Glassic, didnt really care of year or who made it, just so it was cool looking to me.
I have a merc 150 that well, i want to mount up to a boat now, and some of those glassic I was looking weren't rated over 70hp. haha..

Offshore if this is a bust who knows I may take you up on a search..
I know of an late 60's model i believe Hydro V in my area the lady would love for me to take..i think it would take a day to dig the trailer up, plus would need wheels or pulled up onto a trailer to get'r it home ... pretty much the reason its not here now.

pics of the hydro v??? Ive got a boat trailer or 2 that could be used and a flatbed with a power winch... If you need help just ask.

i ended bringing the Tahiti home... not sure if it was the right thing or not, but actually the work it needs is what i was wanting to tackle... so we worked out price and i hooked it up and headed home.

will start new thread w/ some pics and concerns it has.
