Hello, I have a 1959 Alumacraft deep c I am about ready to splash and I discovered a cracked castle nut on one axle. Can't find at auto or trailer store locally. It is measuring at .95 inch inside diameter. Am sure original trailer so around 1959 any suggestions on where to look? Thanks

The way I figure correct thread size, is going to the big box store, with the cracked nut, and check it on the threaded studs in the hardware section. That way you know what to look for ?
Tractor Supply may be another option too ?

Mean .950 right? Probably standard 1 inch axle NF (National Fine) thread. 1"-12 TPI.

Machinery's says 1"-12 fine minor internal thread dia. is .9098
a 1"-20 extra fine internal thread dia. is .9459 Which is close to what calipers would read ?

Since I don't know the standard thread for an axle ? I don't know which it would be ?

But at least the nominal thread size of 1" is nailed down. Now you just have to find the correct thread pitch ?

!-20 is a oddball thread, and can't find any F/S. But I went (retired Machinist)and looked some my books and thinking now I bet its 1-14 axle nut, not 1-12. Has to be it. With no TPI gauge on hand, just lay a good small ruler on the threads and start middle threads, and count back "points" in 1/2 inch. Should be 7. If so, heres what ya need. Link..(any auto parts store should have them)
