TOPIC: Found a deal!

Here's a 1963 Century Resorter I just bought for $800...all original, 100% complete with all parts, decent original interior, running engine and a trailer that is probably only good for the trip home. As planked mahogany (not plywood) boats go, I think this was a pretty good deal.

is that a 327 rambler engine? 327 gray marine?

Wow! That is a steal, great find. The Graymarine Fireball looks like the exact 327cu in, 225 hp that I had in my Sabre. You might have to go through those sidewinder carbs though, if not properly set up the aft one will leak onto the block. It's all in setting up the float level. If you need info on that engine and drivetrain I have all the part manuals and service manuals that I will share.

Well, I don't need another boat. This latest one makes nine but I just couldn't turn it down. I find these deals by scouring Craigslist in four major southern cities in my general area. It's been awhile since I found a good deal but they're out there: 1969 Correct Craft Ski Nautique for $300 (advertised as "old boat"); 1963 OMC Deluxe for $300; 1955 Shepherd for $1,500, etc. Craigslist is the bomb! Everything I find is within driving distance. Actually, I envy you guys in the Pacific NW. I find fantastic deals in Oregon and Washington. Another little trick I use is Ebay Boats with a $500 limit. Just plug in the minimum/maximum price on the left side and hit "search." Here's the direct web address:

I just saw a 1938 Elco CFruisette, floating and running strong, no reserve, for $2,025.!
