TOPIC: Pic size

Pic size 8 years 3 months ago #126749

Ok, my camera file data shows this pic as 9.31mb, or 9,310 kb, so its under the 1024kb limit right?
well, lets try again, single pic.

9MB is way too big. Go into your pictures folder, right click on the image that you want to resize. Click on Open With. Open in Paint. Upper left hand of the screen is the Resize function. Click on the word Resize. I choose Pixels, then change the largest number to 1000. You can then save the picture in the smaller size. HTH

Ok, think I have the camera reset to smaller sizes, but still trying to learn how to dumb down the pics already filed.
AS you can guess, I'm digitly challenged.

Bill,
You'll need to take the disc (sd card or whatever it is) and download it onto a computer and save the pics. Then you can do what Larry and Cal said. Your camera should be able to download to a computer, the book should tell you. It may have a usb chord that plugs into the camera if it doesn't have a removable media (sd card etc)

Thanks guys, but I have been doing the transfers from camera to computer for several years now with my old camera.
The original picture handling program has been handling the new bigger pics just fine, I'm able to manipulate the photos. send them by E-mail etc.
It's just the picture size problem. I haven't mastered yet how to downsize the massive files so I can upload pics here as I've done in the past with the older smaller pics.
I did try an "outside" picture re-sizing program earlier this afternoon and I was able to reduce one pic to under 1 mb, but I can't find out where it is on the computer. LOL.
Challenged remember!

Both camera's and program are NIKON.
I'll get it eventually.

Be careful using a "picture resizing program" that you found on the 'net. They're full of malware, spyware, and data miners...MS Paint is safe.

Thanks Larry for the "heads up" on those sites.
Have been playing around with MS Paint now, and think I MAY be getting a grip on it now?

Here goes nothing....
