TOPIC: building sites/resources?

building sites/resources? 13 years 4 months ago #40391

Im thinking about building something this winter (small sport racer type) and am trying to find some forums or resources. Plans I already know about, debating between glen-l and clark craft but, its more techniques and advice I am looking for.

If you want lots of online help and advice, then Glen-L is your place. I built a Glen-L boat and always got answers to my questions. Glen-L has plans for plywood, cold molded and stitch and glue boats with inboard, outboard, human power and wind power.

I believe all the wooden boat plans they offer are encapsulated with epoxy and fiberglassed. They sell epoxy kits, hardware and fiberglass kits also.

If you want a boat that is more maintenance free, then the epoxy/fiberglass wooden boat is a good solution. You don't have to soak it or keep it in the water. Mine is sprayed with automotive clear coat and sanded with 3000 grit and polished.
