If you want to find out the year of your great find, go to Thompson Dockside with the hull number ( which should be located on the inside of the transom usually on the starboard side). It should be a letter followed by 5 numbers and another letter. Andreas might even respond to your request if you post the numbers here.
One of your 4 cyl's would push it right along and look good doing it!

Well Bill, I knew you and Andreas would be watching. The guy is sending me some more pics soon. This should be a great little runabout. I will for sure keep everyone posted. This loolked like a too good to be true finds. But for a hundred bucks, what the heck.
I will also get to visit my daughter in Portland. Two stones with one bird, or verse visa.

I had talked to the gentleman last night and sealed the deal and he sent one picture. He said he would take the CL add down this morning since it sold to me. I did not save the shots from the CL add.
Here is the one I have until I pick up the boat. For the guys that did not see the add, it is boat only. No motor or trailer and it is $100.
And Andreas, I hope you will fill in all of the blanks when I get this guy home and have all the questions.

I am not "seeing" Thompson on this boat.

The seats and windshield and dashboard and splash well just do not look like anything from Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. or Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc.

Additional photos from different perspectives may change my mind.

What "brand" was it sold as?

I just got off the phone with the guy. I was confirming the time that I would be there to pick it up. He had advertised it as a Thompson. He said that he had dug the paperwork out getting ready for me and he had made a mistake. It is a Cruisers Inc. He seemed sincere in his mistake and offered that if he had mislead me that I could back out if I wanted.
He is also going to send the pics that were in the original CL add. As soon as I get them, I will put them here. You have a good eye, you know your boats. Thank you.

Excellent find for $100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's going to look great with one of the Merc's on it.

Littlefin, funny that you would mention putting a Johnson on there.
I have a couple of 30 horse Johnsons. One is a Javelin longshaft that runs and a parts motor.
I went out in the shop this morning to have my morning coffee, and it seems as though my herd of Mercury's sometime in the night had ganged up on the two Johnsons and beat 'em up pretty good. The parts motor was under the bench with the head and lower unit torn off and the Javelin was showing battle scars in the paint, the shift lever was bent and a big chunk busted out of the prop! Well, I gave them all a good talking too and explained that they needed to play well together. The 1150 just sat there silent. The two 700's (twins of course) snickered and giggled. The 1350 said "I tried to stop 'em".
The dockbuster gang insisted the Johnsons were picking on the Mark 55 and when the Mark 58 tried to jump in and help, all hell broke loose. Grandpa KD4 mumbled something, but I couldn't understand him. The 850 said he might be a shorty, but he thinks he could of taken them by himself. Good thing the 800 was clamped tight on the Tollycraft or she may have killed the whole bunch.
So, if I were to put the Javelin on this boat, and not let the Mercs have their turn first, there would be a mutiny.
Oh yea, and just to be difficult, the two 1000's said they were taking the Evinrude twins to the prom this year. This Sh$# just never ends with this bunch!!

Cruisers, Inc. makes a bit more sense to me. Windshield frame sidelights are short - not factory.

Cruisers, Inc. was formed in 1953 by second generation Thompson family members. They had the full blessing and cooperation of Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co.

Really sharp looking woody there. Compared to the cruiser your about 10 yrs ahead on this one. Should look really sharp with a little merc hanging off the stern. I bet she will have a really soft ride to her. Skip.

I have been scouring the hull for any id numbers/tags/placards. Nothing yet. The regs read 1965 Cruisers Inc. Does this look about right? I would have thought a little older. Doesn't matter, just curious.

well, if you need another steering cable, i have what appears to be a brand new one that looks to have the same ends on it as yours does sitting in my garage that i am not going to be able to use.

Neil, great find! My first boat was a '55 Cruisers 14' bought new by my uncle and then sold to me in '60. Had a Big Twin 35 on it. Cruisers Inc is just 40 miles north of me and has a rich tradition of family pride and employment in this area. "Oconto Cruisers".

I got to float this one for about an hour yesterday. I hung a 50 horse longshaft on it and took her out. Smooth riding and quiet.
50 just isn't enough, but it isn't a speedboat either. here is a couple of shots.

Looking really good out there on the lake, Neil. You just can't beat a woody for a nice quiet ride. Looks like the dog likes it too. Skip.
