TOPIC: 1940's Comet Class Sailboat

1940's Comet Class Sailboat 11 years 3 months ago #83092

My brother asked me to find a new home for his Comet Class Sailboat. I think it was made during the war (1942-43) It's all cedar and needs to be restored. We have the sails but they are VERY VERY old and I wouldn't use them. We have the mast-rudder and centerboards for the boat.

The Boat is HEAVY and there we don't have a trailer for it. We can help you load it we just want it someone to get it out of our yard in Bensalem PA 19020

Free to a good home.

I've been thinking about a Comet or Lightning restoration, got any pictures?

Would love to see pictures. If I wasn't half way across the country I'd be interested. I have a 1937 Thompson SeaGull sailboat that is in dire need of restoration. She's on the "to do" list!

Comets are very nice sailing boats. My Dad built a Lightning in '62,#8441. Still has it and still like new. But over the years it has had a lot of miles under her.
